The Niagara River Corridor is designated as a Globally Significant Important Bird Area (IBA), attracting hundreds of bird species each year—particularly during fall and winter migration seasons. One of the most spectacular sights is the congregation of thousands of gulls, including Bonaparte’s gulls, herring gulls, and rare species like the little gull, making the riverbanks a haven for ornithologists and amateur birders alike.
