What is the Protection Package?

Introducing the New NT Protect™ Protection Package
We’re excited to announce the launch of an all-new Protection Package from NT Protect, a Neighbors Trailer company, underwritten by our licensed NT Protect partner.
This updated Protection Package fully replaces the existing NT Protect coverage — bringing broader protection, simplified eligibility, and peace of mind for every trailer rental on Neighbors Trailer.
What’s New
Coverage Limit: Up to $25,000 per covered loss
Deductible: $500 per incident
Expanded Eligibility:
- All trailer types are eligible, regardless of title status.
- Trailers already insured under another policy remain eligible for damage protection under NT Protect.
- Age Requirement for Coverage: 21 years of age or older
- Expanded Availability: Coverage now extends across all 50 U.S. states and Canada.
These changes are designed to provide broader, more flexible protection and make coverage accessible to more trailer owners across the Neighbors Trailer community.
Why NT Protect™
Accidents can happen — even with experienced drivers. The NT Protect™ Protection Package helps reduce the financial risk for both renters and owners when unexpected damage or theft occurs during a verified rental.
With every eligible rental:
- Renters enjoy peace of mind knowing covered incidents are handled quickly and fairly.
- Owners gain protection against out-of-pocket repair costs if a trailer is damaged or stolen.
- Everyone benefits from a streamlined reimbursement process managed directly by NT Protect.
How It Works
When a rental is booked through Neighbors Trailer, NT Protect™ automatically applies to eligible reservations.
If a covered accident, theft, or damage occurs during the rental period, NT Protect™ helps cover repair or reimbursement up to the trailer’s Actual Cash Value (ACV) — subject to the $25,000 limit and $500 deductible.
NT Protect's NT Protect partners administer reimbursement requests directly, ensuring a fast, fair, and consistent experience for every user.
What’s Covered
- Accidental physical damage to the trailer during use
- Theft or vandalism during an active rental period
- Coverage across the U.S. and Canada
(See official program terms for complete details and exclusions.)
What’s Not Covered
- Routine maintenance or mechanical failure
- Normal wear and tear
- Unauthorized or illegal use
- Loss of use or downtime
- Fraudulent or intentional acts
- Towing & Impound
- Transport
(See official program terms for complete details and exclusions.)
A Program Built on Real Protection
NT Protect™ is not NT Protect sold to renters or owners.
Coverage is provided to NT Protect through licensed NT Protect partners, and benefits are extended to eligible users under the program’s terms.
This structure allows NT Protect to:
- Deliver protection benefits efficiently,
- Manage all reimbursement requests internally, and
- Maintain compliance with NT Protect regulations.

How to File a Reimbursement Request
To file an NT Protect reimbursement request from any On Rent or Completed booking:
- Go to the booking page
- Select the "Help with this Booking" button
- Select "If damages exceeded $500 during this rental, report it here: Reimbursement Request"
NT Protect's NT Protect partners will evaluate and process the request.
All damages must be reported through the Reimbursement Request path above within 48 hours of the scheduled rental end time shown on the booking page.
Coverage is limited to the Paid Rental Period. The "Paid Rental Period" means the time between the scheduled rental start time and the scheduled rental end time shown on the booking page, for which the renter has paid the applicable rental fees. NT Protect does not cover:
- Damages occurring before the scheduled rental start time
- Damages occurring after the scheduled rental end time, including during any unauthorized retention of the trailer
- Damages occurring during any period for which rental fees have not been paid
The 48-hour reporting window does not extend NT Protect coverage to damages that occurred outside the Paid Rental Period.
Important: A Deposit Deduction Request is not an NT Protect request.
Submitting a Deposit Deduction Request — or otherwise reporting damage through messaging, email, phone, or any channel other than the Reimbursement Request path described above — does not constitute filing an NT Protect request and does not satisfy the 48-hour reporting requirement. To preserve your right to NT Protect coverage, you must submit a Reimbursement Request through "Help with this Booking" within 48 hours of the scheduled rental end time, even if you have already submitted a Deposit Deduction Request for the same incident.
Failure to file an NT Protect request through the proper channel within the 48-hour window may result in denial of coverage, regardless of any other communication or request submitted in connection with the booking.
Transparency. Confidence. Protection That Travels with You.
Whether you’re renting to move, haul, or explore, NT Protect™ ensures every trip through Neighbors Trailer comes with trusted, built-in protection.
Rent with confidence.
List with protection.
That’s the NT Protect™ promise.
