Are there tracking options I should avoid?
Some tracking devices are designed for personal items and may not provide the level of reliability needed for trailer monitoring or recovery.
Bluetooth-based trackers are not designed specifically for trailer security and may have limitations, including:
- Dependence on nearby compatible mobile devices to report location
- Inconsistent or delayed location updates
- Limited functionality in rural or low-traffic areas
- Notifications that may alert renters or third parties to the presence of the device
- No guarantee of continuous or real-time tracking
Due to these limitations, Bluetooth-based trackers may not be suitable as a primary tracking solution for trailers used on the Neighbors Trailer platform.
Disclaimer
Tracking capabilities vary by device, installation, coverage area, and service provider. No tracking solution guarantees theft prevention or recovery. Trailer owners are responsible for selecting and maintaining any tracking equipment used.
